_______________
This coming Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, has traditionally been known as Gaudete Sunday, after the introit of the Latin Mass. Rose vestments are sometimes worn and a rose candle is often lit on the Advent Wreath. Christ Church Cathedral has a new chasuble, which blends rose with Advent blue.
Gaudéte in Dómino semper: íterum dico, gaudéte.
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice; let your forbearance be known to all, for the Lord is near at hand; have no anxiety about anything, but in all things, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God.(Philippians 4:4-6).
Giovanni Vianini, Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis, Milano, Gaudete in Domino,Tone 1 [YouTube] (preceded by BWV 722)

Das ist je gewißlich wahr und ein theuer werthes Wort,
That is indeed is certainly true and a most precious word
Daß Christus Jesus kommen ist in die Welt,
that Christ Jesus has come into the world
Sünder selig zu machen.
to make sinners blessed.
Jesus ist der Menschen Heil.
Jesus is the salvation of mankind
Doch wer dieses will genießen,
but whoever wishes to enjoy this
muß sich wahrlich auch entschließen,
must decide sincerely for himself
ohne falschen Heuchelschein

to trust in him alone,
sonst wird ihm dies nicht zu Theil.
